Job Description

Mecc Alte UK manufacture a wide range of industrial alternators from it's plant in Oakham, working closely with its parent company based in Italy) and its customers to ensure top quality products are delivered throughout the product lifecycle.

Our people are at the core of our business and is what makes Mecc Alte a unique Company. We have an opportunity for an experienced hands-on Warehouse Supervisor who must have experience of warehouse operations within an engineering manufacturing facility and experience of SAP WMS systems.

You will take responsibility for assisting the business achieve its warehousing, order fulfilment and distribution objectives, through the efficient and effective leadership of the warehousing department and its staff.

Key Accountabilities/Role & Main Responsibilities



Duties Include:



Managing staff by setting tasks, directing activities, prioritising workload, delivering training, coaching and mentoring and managing performance. Overseeing the efficient and safe unloading, receipt, put-away, replenishment, storage and stock-control of stored goods and all related processes I.e. inventory control; cycle counting etc. Overseeing the efficient and safe order picking, packing and preparation for loading as well as the staging, optimised loading and despatch of goods. Ensuring that specific warehouse health and safety requirements are adhered to Taking responsibility for the security of the work area and stored goods. Planning the locating and arrangement of goods within the warehouse and external storage areas. Ensuring that staff and work area productivity targets are met, whilst also maintaining activity, team flexibility throughput, cost and KPI records. Lead the implementation, training and use of systems for the department. Promoting a healthy and safe workplace by ensuring general safe working practices and that the company's health and safety policy is adhered to.
The above list of duties are not exhaustive, therefore you may be asked to perform other reasonable duties, as and when required, to ensure sufficient running of the factory/business.

Essential Skills and Experience for Overall Role:



Skills and Ability



Ability to lead and manage staff and relevant work processes in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.

Excellent written and interpersonal skills.

The ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload.

Microsoft Computer skills - Outlook, Word, Excel

Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organisation

Experience



At least three years of professional hands-on warehouse management experience in an engineering manufacturing environment.

At least three years' experience supervising staff in a warehousing environment.

SAP/Warehouse System experience processes I.e inventory control, cycle counting processes

Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck trained - valid certificate required.

Hours of Work

: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday - core hours are 0700-0800 to 1600/1630hrs. Flexibility is required when business needs require

Salary and Benefits:



Annual Profit Bonus scheme (upto 7% of salary) subject to achievement of company targets
