Warehouse Supervisor

JOB LOCATION:

Shepley, West Yorkshire

REPORTING TO:

Production Manager

Shepley Spring are the UK's leading bottled water manufacturer with over 20 years' experience in production and are proud to remain a family run business to this day.

The company operates in three manufacturing facilities in West Yorkshire and owns several high-speed production lines with the capabilities of producing both still and sparkling water servicing leading retailers such as Morrisons, Lidl, Booker Tesco and Sainsbury through private label and produces the brands Ice Valley and White Rock exclusively.

Summary



The Warehouse Supervisor oversees daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with company policies. This role involves managing a team of warehouse staff, coordinating logistics, and maintaining inventory accuracy. The Warehouse Supervisor also implements process improvements to enhance productivity and collaborates with other departments to support overall business objectives.

Competencies



Supervise and lead warehouse staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management. Coordinate and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. Ensure inventory accuracy through regular audits and cycle counts. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing safety regulations. Optimise warehouse layout and processes to improve efficiency. Handle shipping and logistics operations, liaising with carriers and suppliers. Address and resolve operational issues and employee concerns promptly. Prepare and analyse reports on warehouse performance and metrics Liaise with 3PL re production and demand planning

Team Management:

Oversee and manage warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.

Operations Coordination:

Coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfilment, and shipping.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Conduct regular safety training and audits.

Inventory Control:

Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock audits, and manage cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare and analyse operational reports, such as inventory levels, order accuracy, and employee performance metrics. Present findings and recommendations to management.

Customer Service:

Liaise with internal departments and external partners (e.g., suppliers, carriers) to ensure timely and accurate order processing and delivery.

Leadership and Supervision: Proven ability to lead, supervise, and motivate a team, manage schedules, and delegate tasks effectively. Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting with staff, management, and external partners. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. Technical Skills: Proficiency in warehouse management software (WMS), inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing inventory, documentation, and reporting. Physical Ability: Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), standing for extended periods, and operating warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 13.00-16.00 per hour
