Senior Warehouse Supervisor - Mondays to Fridays 08:00 to 17:00 (15:00 finish on Fridays)
Role Overview:
As the Senior Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our warehouse operations. You will lead a team of two warehouse operatives and ensure that all warehousing activities including goods-in, stock control, order fulfilment, and dispatch are executed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. This is a hands-on role that also requires a strategic mindset and the ability to identify and implement process improvements as we grow.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting into a Group Warehouse Manager, take full ownership of daily warehouse operations, ensuring all activity runs efficiently and in line with company standards.
Lead, manage, and support two warehouse operatives, including task delegation, training, and performance monitoring.
Oversee the safe and accurate handling, storage, and dispatch of fragile glass packaging products.
Maintain accurate stock control through regular inventory audits and reconciliation.
Optimise warehouse layout and processes to improve productivity and reduce handling time or breakages.
Liaise with suppliers, hauliers, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate inbound and outbound logistics.
Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, including proactive identification and mitigation of risks.
Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and efficiently (valid licence preferred).
Implement and improve warehouse SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and contribute to ongoing operational improvements.
Report to senior management on KPIs, warehouse performance, and stock accuracy.
Experience & Skills Required:
Minimum 3 years' experience in a warehouse supervisory or management role, ideally within a small to medium-sized operation.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a small team.
Experience handling delicate or fragile goods (glass packaging experience highly desirable).
Solid understanding of warehouse health & safety requirements and best practices.
Forklift licence (counterbalance and/or reach) preferred.
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Comfortable using warehouse management systems (WMS), spreadsheets, and Microsoft 365.
Proactive, reliable, and hands-on with a continuous improvement mindset.
