The Role:
The role of the Warehouse Supervisor is to oversee and co-ordinate daily warehousing activities, taking full ownership of day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring all orders are dispatched to meet client and operational targets. Effectively managing a team of warehouse operatives ensuring safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Organise your team effectively, allocating work whilst monitoring progress to ensure workload / tasks are completed to meet our KPI's and client SLA's.
Develop, lead and motivate your team to achieve operational KPI's and meet all safety standards.
Deliver effective people management processes, in line with company Policy, ensuring that key people activities are processed in a timely manner (i.e. rota/worklog management, absence management)
Deliver continued and sustained KPI performance, understanding the business / cost implications of decision made.
Work with the Warehouse Manager to use forecasts and trends to pan for both short and long term requirements.
Maintain a constant presence within the warehouse delivering shift briefs to your team, ensuring clear communication channels of key information
Have a mindset of continuous improvement, with a focus on how the operation can be organised to drive performance and efficiency to deliver for our clients.
Have Health and Safety at the forefront of your mind ensuring health and safety standards are maintained, site rules and regulations and company policies and procedures are adhered to.
Optime warehouse capacity through efficient housekeeping of all stock and product lines.
Monitor/control the supply of packaging items to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day distribution operations
Ensure housekeeping measures and in line with company expectations
Liaise, communicate and co-ordinate with other departments
Undertake other tasks from time to time as directed by the company.
Skills and Experience
Previous experience in a leadership position
Previous experience working within a warehouse / logistics operation
Confident leader of people and able to motivate others in a fast-paced, busy environment
Pro-active and adaptable approach, always looking for new ways to improve performance and processes
Be agile, able to respond to changes and supporting new initiatives
'Hands-on' commitment to getting the job done
You will be a strong communicator, able to work with and influence where necessary your colleagues, peers, managers and other key stakeholders.
Good knowledge of warehouse management systems and MS Office proficiency
