Job Overview



To assist with the day-to-day Cargo Warehouse operation, ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient movement of cargo through the designated Cargo Warehouse facilities on site, and adherence to HMRC, CAA and BOH operating and security protocols. To ensure at all times that activities carried out within the Cargo Warehouse environment are done so safely and securely in accordance with RCA behaviours, external statutory and regulatory requirements and all relevant policies and procedures. You'll need to adopt a flexible approach to your working hours, at present this opportunity is for four shifts on then four shifts off. This includes early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Shifts start times may vary in length depending on the demands of the Operation.

Principal Accountabilities



Business and Customer Service Accountabilities



To ensure that all required tasks are carried out in accordance with Company and Client Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) which will include, but is not limited to, the following duties:

Handle imports from arriving import flights ensuring all information is accurately entered into the designated system, including accepting records to complete for Customs acceptance. Deal with transhipment records to other bonded facilities and other airports within the UK, and overseas as may be required, using the appropriate system. Accept and manifest flights in a timely fashion. Liaise with all appropriate Cargo, Security and Handling Operations Team members who may be working within the Cargo Warehouse environment over release/acceptance and management of the building of export flights. Assist with documentation in relation to the physical preparation, building and loading to/from trucks or airside operating equipment as required. Enter export Airway Bills (AWBs) into the designated system, including information relating to special handling charges/codes. Interface with customers in person on site, by email or other written communication or by phone. Liaise with Airline Management, Load Control and Ground Operations as may be required relating to flight load plans. Liaise with 3rd party ground transport (trucking) suppliers used by clients to ensure efficient and timely communications and processing of consignments between aircraft, warehouse and truck as required. Liaise with 3rd party (off site) handling companies at bonded facilities elsewhere as may be operationally required.
To performs other duties as assigned by the Cargo Warehouse Supervisor(s) and Cargo Operations Manager as required.

Attend relevant training courses off site as and when required.

Health & Safety Accountabilities



Whilst at work the post holder will comply with his/her responsibilities conferred by Sections 7 & 8 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. The post holder will: -

Take reasonable care of the health and safety of him/herself and other persons who may be affected by his/her acts or omissions at work, Co-operate with the Company management so far as is necessary in order that the Company can carry out its statutory duty under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, and all relevant statutory provisions, Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety and welfare.

Dimensions



To support the Cargo Warehouse Supervisor(s) and Cargo Operations Manager in delivering the efficient utilisation of the department to meet the operational needs including prioritising the appropriate resources as determined by the job description.

Essential:



Previous administration experience - working in a fast-paced environment Excellent computer skills Ability to work to deadlines and meet targets

Desirable:



Knowledge of airfreight forwarding and imports experience Working knowledge of imports customer clearance

What's on offer:



Salary is 29,140.80 per annum for a 40 hour week.

Please note that the pay award for April 2025 has yet to be agreed. Your salary will increase to the agreed rate and backdated to 1 April 2025 (or your start date if after 1 April 2025) once negotiations have concluded
