Job outline



The purpose of the role is to manage all activities relating to our goods warehouse, where we hold stocked and special order products prior to despatch or collection by our customers. You will handle incoming deliveries, manage stock levels and place orders with suppliers to replenish stock. Working in a supervisory capacity, you will take the lead in planning local deliveries for our van driver. You will be required to become familiar with our core range of stocked products, enabling you to deal with trade sale (walk-in) enquiries and simple customer enquiries.

Duties & responsibilities



Below some are specific duties for the role, however this list is not exhaustive.

Keyholder



opening and closing the warehouse at the start and end of the working day

Goods inwards



Raising purchase orders to suppliers to maintain required stock levels Offloading, unpacking and checking goods inwards consignments Recording goods received, dealing with shortages, damages, etc

Goods despatch



Liasing with sales team and customers to understand delivery priorities Planning and arranging deliveries (via both company van and 3rd party carriers) Generating delivery paperwork Picking products, packing and loading vehicles

Trade sales



Greeting customers in a polite and welcoming manner Handling simple trade counter orders Providing advice to customers

Housekeeping



Organising product storage in a logical and efficient way Keeping the store environment tidy and free of hazards Maintaining risk assessments for store operations Co-ordination of waste disposal (packaging, general waste)

Essential Criteria



E1. Above average numeracy and literacy

E2. A pleasant demeanour

E3. Good verbal communication skills

E4. Willingness to work flexible hours if required

E5. Physically fit & able to perform manual handling tasks within safe working limits

E6. Valid Driving Licence (max 3 penalty points)

Desirable



D1. High degree of computer literacy

D2. Counterbalance forklift licence or previous training

D3. Manual handling training

D4. Previous experience in a similar or relevant role

Due to insurance restrictions, candidates must be aged 25 or over.

The employee will

not

have use of a company vehicle for commuting purposes, so will need to commute to our office daily.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 28,000.00-35,000.00 per year
