Warehouse/ Yard Person
Job Description
We currently have a vacancy for a full time, permanent warehouse/ yard person in our busy Kirkwall branch. The successful candidate should have basic computer skills, some awareness of warehouse duties such as the booking in or labelling of goods as well as general housekeeping would be an advantage. This position involves the use of a forklift, filling up outside shop display and storage areas with goods, unloading lorries/ vans delivering goods/ checking off goods delivered and the regular completion of stock sheets. As well as maintaining the yard areas always keeping them clean & tidy, storing goods in a safe manner. They should be someone who can work well on their own or as part of a team, use their own initiative and have good organisational skills. Please be aware this job role may involve heavy lifting, so a good awareness of manual handling procedures is required along with forklift experience.
