About the role
Join us as a
Warehouse Yard Shunter
and become a key player in our passionate, fast-paced, and close-knit team!
In this role you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of trailers and containers within a Pilgrim Foods yard and warehouse facility. The role ensures smooth logistics operations by positioning trailers for loading and unloading.
You will also be responsible for following policies and Safe systems of work set out by the company to mitigate risks to accidents and incidents and maintain compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Always ensure the vehicle is always maintained to a high level a hygiene prior to being allocated to the warehouse for loading. Once loaded ensure the vehicle has been loaded safely and handle all products appropriately.
Accountable for maintaining a safe, clean working environment Maintaining a clean and organised warehouse to minimize hazards, improve workflow, and maintain compliance with Food Hygiene standards.
PLEASE NOTE
Applicants must be 25 or older due to insurance policy restrictions and prior to interviews commencing a full driving licence check will need to be completed by our Transport Department
All we ask is that you have:
Confidence to operate vehicles and perform delivery duties (The duties involve physical activities that are of moderate to high intensity)
Numeracy skills
Good written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills: dealing with customers, handling conflict
Good decision maker
Effective communicator: keeps people informed of decisions and outcomes
