You will act as the key link between customers, production, and technical teams, assessing warranty claims, diagnosing issues, and ensuring fair, consistent outcomes. Formal engineering qualifications are
not required
-- practical experience, mechanical awareness, or a strong automotive interest is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Warranty Assessment & Technical Support
Review and assess warranty claims for returned components
Diagnose faults using inspection reports, images, and technical data
Identify root causes (installation issues, wear, contamination, misuse, or component failure)
Decide on warranty outcomes in line with company policies
Site visits collecting samples and further liaising.
Customer & Internal Communication
Communicate technical findings clearly to customers in a professional, non-technical way
Liaise with production, quality, and warehouse teams to gather information
Support customer service teams with technical advice when needed
Process & Documentation
Record warranty decisions accurately on internal systems
Maintain clear documentation for audit and quality control purposes
Spot repeat failure trends and escalate recurring issues
Contribute to improving warranty processes and technical guidelines
What We're Looking For
Essential
Good practical understanding of mechanical components
Ability to logically fault-find and analyse problems
Strong attention to detail and written communication skills
Confident using computer systems and internal databases
Calm, fair, and consistent decision-making
Desirable (but not essential)
Automotive background (workshop service manager, diagnostic technician)
Experience with engines, turbochargers, or related components
Mechanical, engineering, or hands-on technical experience
Strong personal interest in cars, mechanics, or automotive projects
