Are you passionate about sustainability and environmental management? Do you have the leadership skills to drive innovative waste and recycling strategies? We're looking for a forward thinking Waste & Recycling Manager to lead our waste management operations and help us achieve our environmental goals.
As the Waste & Recycling Manager, you will oversee the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of waste reduction and recycling programs across the District. You'll work closely with colleagues and the wider Streetscene Team to ensure compliance, efficiency, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement waste management and recycling strategies aligned with statutory environmental regulations and our Council Plan goals.
  • Manage working relationships to ensure high performing service delivery.
  • Monitor and report on key performance data waste volumes, recycling rates, and environmental impact to help shape service delivery
  • Lead and develop the team to achieve their potential
  • Promote awareness and engagement in waste reduction initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and health & safety standards.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and cost savings in waste operations.
About You
  • Proven experience in waste management, recycling, logistics or environmental services.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and produce clear, actionable reports.
  • Passion for sustainability and the environment
  • Relevant qualifications in environmental management, waste management, logistics or a related field are desirable.
