We have an exciting role on offer within our Environmental Services as a Waste Development Officer.

About Us

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for driving environmental change? We are seeking a dedicated Waste Development Officer to join our dynamic waste management team and help shape a greener future for our community. You will play a crucial role in developing and delivering innovative projects that promote recycling, composting, and waste minimisation in line with our corporate environmental objectives.


To be successful in this role you need a full driving license with proof of business insurance, and a Waste Management qualification or diploma or willing to work towards.

What you'll be doing: -

Deliver and develop initiatives: Implement new waste and recycling schemes and conduct promotional campaigns to increase participation and reduce waste.

Engage the community: Run educational sessions and give presentations to schools, community groups, and residents on environmental issues and our services.

Communicate and inform: Prepare and produce publicity materials, respond to public inquiries, and create content for our website.

Analyse data: Monitor the performance of our waste services and use data to inform decisions and report on progress towards targets.

Manage projects: Support the delivery of key projects, including the rollout of new collection services or infrastructure developments.

Collaborate with partners: Liaise with waste collection contractors, external partners, and other council departments.
