Do you have a passion for waste reduction? We have an exciting opportunity for a Waste Minimisation & Recycling Development Advisor to join our Operations team.

This role is centred around a dedication to recycling and minimising waste, achieved through active community engagement and collaboration with team members. The main goal is to inspire and empower residents to adopt sustainable waste management practices by providing them with essential information, tools, and support.

You will be a key figure within the Waste Minimisation Teams delivery of the communications plan for the Simpler Recycling Initiative to the residents of Braintree. By fostering a shared sense of responsibility and encouraging innovative solutions, we aim to significantly reduce the environmental impact of waste in our community.

This is a great opportunity to join Braintree District Council's Operations service to focus on waste minimisation. This role will involve supporting the Waste Minimisation Team in the implementation of engagement strategy. In addition, there will be administrative duties including the Garden Waste subscription service as the SME, Refuse and Recycling, Environmental concerns, Pest Control, and Bulky Waste Furniture Collections. This also entails processing payments when applicable

Strong administration skills and IT skills are essential. You must have proven customer service experience and a background which includes public speaking both on a 1:1 basis and to a larger group

It is also essential that you have some experience of data input and data analysis from spreadsheets and databases, with the ability to report back meaningful information to support the Project Team.

You will have excellent customer service skills, experience of working in a busy environment and the ability to promote the service at every opportunity.
