First impressions count, and it's down to our Facilities Team to ensure that every member delivers a first-class customer experience to staff, students, and visitors.



We are looking to recruit to our Grounds and External Team.



As anOperative, you will assist the team in delivering a wide range of duties. You will need a positive, "can do" attitude with a strong customer service mindset. The post holder will be part of a small Facilities team delivering Grounds Maintenance and Washroom Services across campus.




About the role:



This job will involve working outside in all seasons. Duties will include (but are not limited to):


Grounds maintenance activities such as soft landscaping, planting, grass cutting, and weed control. Litter picking, jet washing, graffiti removal, and chewing gum removal. Assisting with the collection of sanitary and offensive waste (e.g., sanitary and nappy bins) across campus. Equipment checks and basic maintenance. Driving duties as required.

Hours of work:





8:00 - 15:45 (35 hours per week) 5 over 7 flexible



45 minutes unpaid break



5 days per week, Tuesday to Saturday



Attendance is also required for key events during the year e.g., open / visit days, graduation, arrivals weekend which may involve working different hours with prior notice. To assist with the scheduling of this work, you will work a 5 over 7 contract.
