Pembrokeshire has been among Wales' top recycling authorities since 2019, and we are now looking for Waste Transfer Station Operative to join our innovative recording breaking Waste and Recycling service.

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team. This is a rewarding, physical role that keeps you fit while making a real difference.

Delivering and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, you will be working in a modern purpose-built facility ensuring Pembrokeshire County Council remails a leading Local Authority in delivering waste operations in Wales. You will undertake a range of duties in a team environment, connected with the collection and disposal of waste and recycling from across the county. You will ensure that all refuse and recyclable materials received from households and businesses across Pembrokeshire is sorted, separated and bulked appropriately within a safe and well-maintained environment.

You will be actively supporting PCC to achieve its core objective to be one of the top recycling Authorities in Wales making a greener and cleaner Pembrokeshire. You will also support our ambitions surrounding continuous service improvement for an efficient service whilst meeting Welsh Governments targets and legislation.

Roles Available



We are seeking permanent posts for Waste Transfer Station Operative

Requirement of the role.



A valid driving licence is desirable, ideally including HGV and experience operating forklift and telehandler. Must be physically fit, able to lift and move bins, boxes and operate plant/machinery throughout the working day. Able to work effectively as part of a team/crew and to use own initiative. High degree of awareness in respect of health and safety in relation to manual handling, plant and machinery and vehicle movements. Requirement to be literate and numerate in order to accept work instructions and complete necessary work documentation, with ability to use IT systems. There is a requirement to work bank holidays and weekends affected by Christmas closure. May be some opportunities for overtime.
