The Water Hygiene Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of water systems within various facilities. This position involves conducting inspections, performing maintenance, and implementing hygiene protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of water hygiene.

Duties

Conduct regular inspections of water systems to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Perform maintenance tasks including cleaning, disinfecting, and repairing water storage tanks and distribution systems. Assemble and install plumbing fixtures, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to specifications. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various maintenance tasks. Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to troubleshoot issues within water systems. Document all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs accurately for record-keeping purposes. Assist in training staff on water hygiene practices and protocols.

Skills

Proficient in heavy lifting, with the ability to handle equipment and materials as required. Strong basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to plumbing tasks. Experience with hand tools and power tools is essential for effective maintenance work. Knowledge of plumbing systems is essential. Must be able to work on your own initiative Mechanical knowledge is necessary for troubleshooting equipment issues. Skills in carpentry may be beneficial for certain installation tasks. A valid UK driving licence is essential.
