EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Working within our Water Operations department, we have a really exciting opportunity to join the team as a Water Network Technician where you will predominantly be ensuring the effective operation of the distribution Network within the West Midlands Region.

You will be involved in several daily activities to ensure the ownership and delivery of district metered area\'s, including leakage reduction, pressure management and continuous improvements of our assets.

Also, you\'ll take ownership of network and customer issues, alongside building relationships with both our internal and external stakeholders.

You\'ll be working in partnership with the Greater Water Infrastructure team as well, ensuring all work is safely carried out, follows the correct process, and uses solutions which are cost effective.

WHAT YOU\'LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Your key accountabilities in helping us will be:

You\'ll be part of a team that will stretch you, grow your problem solving skills and connect us with communities across the UK.

  • Lead and promote a safe working environment whilst making sure that all of our quality standards are met.
  • Working outside to identify and arrange the repair of leaks on the Severn Trent network and Customer Side leaks
  • Carrying out leakage detection campaigns, utilising all leakage detection equipment such as leak noise correlators & loggers
  • Ownership of the leakage, unaccounted for water and operability performance within your given area.
  • Identify unaccounted for water (unbilled, illegal usage, missing properties) and ensuring we account for the usage by promoting logger installs or getting properties on our system
  • Identifying and correcting incorrect data on our systems
  • Promote repairs to a high quality considering the health and safety impact to the repair teams and public, understanding traffic management requirements
  • Identify mitigation measures to reduce leakage and promote long term solutions with Network Optimisation Teams.
  • Fixing meter & logger faults to ensure good quality network data
  • Customer interaction, leaving customers informed and happy
  • Supporting the repair teams with further investigations on difficult to pinpoint leaks
  • Cover a standby rota for incident & event support
  • Proactively protect vulnerable parts of the network, in order to prevent potential water quality, supply interruptions and environmental impact
  • Please be aware a full driving license and a willingness to travel is required.
  • Help us to Achieve our 15% leakage reduction by the next AMP.
