Position & Primary Responsibilities



MIO's Advisory and Wealth Planning Team is seeking a detail-oriented Wealth Planning Associate to join us in London, UK. The Wealth Planning team in London serves clients in the UK, and also supports clients and colleagues across the rest of EMEA. This is a client-facing, role, requiring knowledge across succession planning, lifetime taxation, pensions and legal documentation. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Wealth Planners and Investment Advisors to deliver customized, sophisticated wealth planning guidance to our client base of alumni McKinsey Partners. Your responsibilities will span conducting wealth planning-related research, preparing client deliverables, developing educational content, and supporting the management of client relationships.


Team and Client Support



Support the Senior Wealth Planner in all activities:


Develop and maintain cash flow projection models to support long-term planning scenarios Support preparation of inheritance tax and lifetime taxation calculations and illustrative planning scenarios to aid client decision-making Draft wealth planning action plans ready for delivery to clients Review and summarize key features of existing documents (e.g., wills, trusts, powers of attorney and tax returns), along with synthesizing recommendations for optimizing those existing documents Track and organize action items from client meetings in coordination with Investment Advisors, ensuring timely follow-up

Knowledge Building and Research



Research relevant technical topics, including:


Assist with the development and maintenance of EMEA country-specific estate and tax planning overviews Conduct preliminary research on succession and lifetime tax questions, summarizing findings for Senior Wealth Planner Help compile and update client education materials, including primers, decks, and visual diagrams Support the evaluation and integration of software tools and help document internal processes Monitor industry updates and share key takeaways with the Advisory and Wealth Planning Team members

Third-Party Service Providers (e.g., lawyers, accountants, etc.)



Collaborate with external providers and Advisory Team members to:


Maintain and regularly update the internal directory of trusted estate planning attorneys and accountants by region across EMEA Support outreach efforts to external professionals to build referral network and conduct introductory meetings




Desired Background


Bachelor's degree required; advanced qualifications (lawyer, accountant, wealth planning) is a plus At least 2-3 years of client-facing experience in wealth planning, estate planning, tax, or financial services Solid understanding of estate and lifetime taxation concepts, pensions, and personal financial planning principles Experience of dealing with US-connected individuals is a plus Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex legal and financial documents Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complicated technical concepts clearly and succinctly Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and a client-first mentality Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with cashflow planning software, or or a willingness to master is expected MIO Partners, Inc.
