Purpose of the role
To manage and operate a set of weaving machines, produce woven fabrics to set schedules and to meet customer demands. This is a temp to perm position, 3 month FTC.
The day to day
To adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirements
To manage and weave up to 12 looms using both natural & synthetic yarns.
To understand and operate both dobby and jacquard looms
To maintain a high standard of quality when weaving on the looms, repair warp & weft breaks, ensure weft creels are filled and full pieces of fabric are doffed at the correct length.
Checking work to ensure fabrics are defect free and ensuring all quality procedures are followed and documented.
To take the responsibility to stop machines weaving if they suspect any quality problems. Ensuring any quality issues are reported to their team leader and loom tuner.
To ensure the working environment is maintained to a high standard, maintaining their work areas in a safe, clean & tidy manner with a high standard of housekeeping.
