ABOUT THE ROLE

Working with the wider International Marketing Team, Recruitment Team, Regional Offices and Faculties to identify and address the needs of our international customer groups. This includes prospective students, parents, agents, and counsellors. The role will require the Development, maintenance, and delivery of goal driven, persona-based customer journeys through personalisation to drive forward and deliver against KPI\'s and the wider international strategy.

The role will also have responsibility for the management of our media agency, and the delivery of our paid media campaigns, including developing initiatives across a number of channels and in agreed markets. Reporting on campaign success and optimising campaigns to deliver strong return on investment.

The postholder will contribute towards the development of our international organic social media strategy, working closely with the Content Coordinator to ensure our audience reach is maximised across our key social channels.

As a member of the International Marketing Team, and in line with the University\'s Strategy, Values and Behaviours, you will:

  • Design and implement persona-based, customer journeys against agreed customer groups, goals and KPI\'s.
  • Work with cross-functional teams within Global Marketing and Business, as well as Regional Offices, Faculties, and external partners to identify and address the needs of international customer groups including students, parents, agents, and counsellors.
  • Develop personalisation and test plans to maximise goal conversions.
  • Use Google Analytics to track, report and optimise goal conversions to make recommendations, and report on success.
  • Develop and contribute to reporting on own area of responsibility and the wider international marketing strategy.
  • Work with the wider International Marketing Team to create integrated plans incorporating paid activity, lead generation, CRM, social and content strategies into the wider web and customer journey strategy.
  • Work with external agencies and partners to set goals and KPI\'s and ensure our presence across external websites deliver key conversions.
  • Track and report on the success of external web journeys to ensure a strong return on investment for the University.
  • Manage and coach a small team of Marketing Assistants and Interns.
  • Have or develop an awareness of the challenges and needs of students coming into the UK to study.
  • Attend weekly agency meetings where appropriate, monitoring the weekly WIP, reviewing and analysing monthly reports and preparing briefing notes for management.
  • Supporting the International Marketing Manager to provide quarterly briefing documents and spotlight briefs where appropriate.
  • Organise and monitor media related finances including raising PO\'s, updating budget sheets and working with the media agency to manage campaign under spend.
  • Be responsible for creating assets, messaging, and monitoring performance of paid advertising and aligned campaigns.
  • Contribute to the organic social strategy working with the Content Coordinator to deliver key content across key social channels across the recruitment cycle.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Web and Customer Journey Specialist (International) will be a member of the International Marketing Team working within the Global Marketing and Business function. With responsibility for delivering marketing activity for the purposes of the recruitment of international students into Northumbria University. The successful candidate with work across the team to ensure that the customer journey is maximised on the website, dealing with our media agency and managing paid campaigns as well as involvement in organic social media campaigns.
