Web Development Team Leader

to join our digital team in Exeter. This is a hybrid working role, requiring regular in-person collaboration at our Exeter office. You will play a pivotal role in leading the development of our internal learning platforms, guiding a talented team of developers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality digital solutions that support our mission to bridge academia and business.

Web Development Team Leader

- Your Key Responsibilities




Lead the development and ongoing improvement of our e-learning platforms Manage and mentor a team of web developers, strengthening a collaborative and innovative working culture. Run daily development standups and regular scrum meetings, ensuring agile best practices are followed. Work closely with the design team to translate requirements and wireframes into robust, scalable code. Oversee application testing, code reviews, and deployment processes to maintain
high standards of quality and reliability.
Drive continuous improvement of our platforms and processes by contributing ideas and technical solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, supporting the team in overcoming development challenges.



Ideal candidates will

showcase

some or

all of

the following experience:




Proven experience leading web development teams, ideally within an EdTech or SaaS environment. Strong background in developing web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks with proven experience of Angular (essential - our primary development framework), NodeJS, Firebase, GCP, and related technologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others. Demonstrated experience running agile ceremonies (scrums, standups, sprint planning). User-oriented focus, with a passion for delivering innovative solutions. Comfortable with change and able to drive a solutions-focused approach within the team. Degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent commercial experience.
