The Role:


The Web Tester ensures the quality, functionality, and accessibility of Liverpool City Council's digital applications and websites. Operating within an Agile DevOps environment, the role involves designing and executing test plans, identifying bugs, and supporting user acceptance testing. The tester works closely with developers, UX teams, and project stakeholders to validate that solutions meet user needs and technical standards, while also contributing to continuous improvement and platform stability.


Key responsibilities:

Test Planning & Execution

: create and perform unit, functional, and accessibility tests for web applications and sites

Bug Reporting & Resolution

: document issues, assist in debugging, and collaborate with developers to resolve defects

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

: support customers during UAT phases, ensuring solutions meet expectations and requirements

Platform Monitoring

: track usage, generate reports, and proactively maintain web server platforms and site performance

Quality Reviews & Site Maintenance

: conduct regular audits and cleansing activities to uphold content and technical standards

Project Collaboration

: work with development teams and project managers to support design, build, and implementation efforts
