We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Website & SEO Support Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with foundational WordPress experience who's ready to take ownership of website administration, support ticket triage and assist with SEO implementation. You'll play a key part in maintaining client websites, assisting our SEO manager and ensuring hosting and security services run smoothly. The role will also involve practical technical maintenance, security configuration and assisting the senior developer with new website projects.
Key Responsibilities
Website Administration & Support
Manage daily WordPress admin tasks across client sites.
Monitor and respond to support tickets, resolving issues where possible without senior developer input.
Implement basic content updates, plugin configurations and troubleshoot common WordPress issues.
Liaise with internal team members to escalate technical issues when required.
Follow and contribute to internal process documentation to maintain consistent workflows.
SEO Support
Assist the SEO Manager with on-page optimisation tasks such as metadata updates, internal linking and content formatting.
Handle technical SEO initiatives by implementing minor dev changes (e.g. schema markup, redirects, crawl settings).
Help monitor SEO performance using tools like Google Search Console and SEMrush.
Prepare reports and documentation to support SEO strategy delivery.
Hosting, Maintenance & Security
Oversee WordPress hosting environments, including WPMU configuration and ongoing management.
Ensure SSL certificates are correctly installed and maintained.
Run regular updates, backups and security scans across client sites.
Flag and resolve basic hosting or performance issues.
Set up and maintain login protection tools to secure WordPress sites.
Configure and disable automated error detection rules where appropriate (e.g. false 404 detections).
New Website Project Support
Assist the Senior Developer with website build projects by handling setup, content uploads and configuration tasks.
Manage accessibility best practice, including labelling form fields and configuring link behaviours.
Configure and test core plugins such as contact forms, Recaptcha, Yoast, SMTP, and Imagify.
Help define and implement basic site structures, including URL structure and post types.
Carry out pre-launch testing, optimise images, and retest contact forms.
Remove unnecessary development plugins and prepare the site for go-live.
Assist with final review and sign-off processes.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Solid understanding of WordPress admin and basic troubleshooting.
Familiarity with SEO principles and tools (e.g. Google Search Console, SEMrush).
Basic HTML/CSS knowledge and ability to implement small dev changes.
Experience using ticketing systems and managing client support queries.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical processes.
Understanding of how to follow and maintain process documentation.
Clear communicator with a problem-solving mindset.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, organised and able to manage multiple tasks.
Willing to learn and take on new responsibilities.
Desirable
Hands-on experience with WPMU DEV configuration and management.
Exposure to WordPress security tools, including login protection setups and error/404 rule configurations.
Experience assisting with new website builds, including plugin setup, content uploads, and site testing.
Understanding of website performance metrics and optimisation techniques.
Experience working in a digital agency or managing multiple websites.
Familiarity with core plugins such as Yoast SEO, Imagify, WPForms, SMTP and Recaptcha.
Awareness of accessibility best practices (e.g. form field labelling, link behaviour configuration).

Salary of 25,000.
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
Flexible working options available, with a mixture of flexi-days, working from home days and 4 day weeks. Choose either 1 working from home day or 1 flexi-day every week. Or choose to work a 4 day week.
