We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cafe Assistant to support our front of house operations during weekend shifts. Our ideal candidate will have some background in hospitality, with the ability to work in a team effectively while ensuring high standards of food safety and quality, and a passion for plant based and sustainable food. The role is primarily supporting our team on Saturday lunchtimes, but there opportunity to increase hours with additional shifts during the week and through our one off events.
Duties
Serve customers efficiently and with a friendly and welcoming manner
Make coffees and other hot drinks, serve alcohol and serve our selection of cakes and salads
Support daily activities of the dining area during weekend shifts.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in all food preparation areas.
Skills
Some experience in hospitality, preferably within a busy restaurant or cafe environment.
Strong team playing skills with the ability to work in our small team effectively.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
Excellent communication skills, with a focus on friendly customer service.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Some barista experience is desirable but not essential - full training will be given
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges and ability to think on your feet
