About us

Lord Pesto is a small business in Cambridge CB21 6AT. We produce an absolutely topping range of fresh pasta and pesto, sold in and around London. Each weekend we deliver to London markets from our base in Cambridge , fresh pasta, sauces and pesto.

The successful applicant will have some experience not only of driving but while maintaining respectful care of a delicate and handmade product. Mindful handling is essential as a lot of time and energy is spent on our production. The appearance of our product must be maintained at all times to be ready for immediate sales display.

The job offered is a part time role at the weekends. With relevant driving experience, sales skills and a keen eye for detail, this can be a challenging, multi skilled and rewarding job. The day will involve driving to 3 different London locations eg, Notting Hill, South Kensington and Pimlico. Dropping off Trolleys of Pasta, boxes of pesto, tables, and market essentials at each location and then setting up an umbrella to protect the stock from the elements and then selling our products at the last location. The markets on Saturdays run from 9am to 1 or 2pm. Then picking up each and returning leftover product back to Cambridge for another run in on Sunday.
Sunday is very similar but the opening hours of the markets is 10am to 2pm. We are currently running 4 markets on every Sunday.

I would always leave our base in Cambridge for 5.30 or 5.45 to make good time and deliver to all markets. Saturday return times are currently 4.30 - 5pm and Sunday's generally around 6pm. The return journey involves cutting a path through London, so any experience of London would be a plus. Although a keenness to learn will also be readily recognised! Our vehicle is a LWB Sprinter so previous experience of manouvering such a vehicle is viewed as a basic requirement.

The wage is paid on a day rate that would start at 160 (to be taxed at source) and be negotiated due to previous experience. This is a role that will grow potentially another week day, picking up ingredients, eggs, supplies from local wholesalers and suppliers, or into another London run where we start midweek markets.
