We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will be used to a fast paced Breakfast service and Sunday Lunch as well as possessing strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee food preparation, manage kitchen operations, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing menu items, and maintaining a welcoming environment for both staff and guests. The role is unit based, providing take away dishes for pick up. The hours are -
Saturday 7.30-13.30 - Breakfast only
Sunday 7.30-18.00 Breakfast and Sunday Lunch
Applicants with breakfast and Sunday lunch experience would be better suited for this role although training will be provided.
Additional hours may be picked up for mid week. These are 7.00-15.00. Due to the nature of this role and for insurance purposes, the candidate is required to hold a driving licence and be over the age of 25.
Duties
Work alongside the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service.
Prepare, cook, and package a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
Oversee food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment.
Manage food inventory, order supplies, and control stock levels to minimise waste.
Develop innovative dishes that cater to diverse dietary requirements and customer preferences.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to foster professional growth and maintain high standards of performance.
Collaborate with the drivers to ensure seamless service delivery.
Monitor quality control throughout all stages of food preparation and presentation.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a within a professional kitchen environment.
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques.
Strong ability to be motivated, organised and motivate other staff effectively.
Demonstrable knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
Previous experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
Leadership qualities combined with a passion for culinary excellence.
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management. This position offers an engaging environment for passionate culinary professionals eager to showcase their skills while leading a dedicated team towards excellence in every dish served.
You will be working closely with the Catering Manager for support and training. We also offer in house training programmes as well as nationally recognised qualifications.
