We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and respectful individual to join our friendly team in a welcoming cafe in the Scottish Borders.

Perfect weekend role for someone who loves cooking fresh, tasty food!

As a Cook / Kitchen Assistant, you'll be responsible for all food preparation and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen.

Hours:

Saturday: 7:00am - 2:00pm Sunday: 8:00am - 2:00pm (With the potential for additional weekday hours in the coming months.)
Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve breakfasts, soups, light lunches, and baked goods General food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients Follow recipes and instructions to maintain consistent quality Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area Ensure food safety protocols are followed at all times Collaborate with staff team to ensure an efficient workflow Help with inventory management and stock rotation
What We're Looking For:

Experience in a busy kitchen Confident with breakfast and lunch dishes Reliable, tidy, organised and a good team player Ability to work independently and as part of a team Food Safety & Hygiene certificate preferred
Requirements:

Previous experience in a kitchen or cafe setting (preferred) Knowledge of basic food preparation and food safety regulations Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks Dependable, respectful, and takes pride in their work Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Customer service: 1 year (preferred) Cooking: 1 year (required)
