WEEKEND KITCHEN ASSISTANT

To support the kitchen team by maintaining a clean and organised working environment, ensuring that all areas of the kitchen meet health and hygiene standards. This role is essential in keeping the kitchen running efficiently during busy weekend service.

Key Responsibilities:

Wash and properly store all cooking utensils, dishes, glasses, and kitchen equipment. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, surfaces, bins, and equipment in line with food safety regulations. Assist chefs with basic food prep or deliveries as required. Empty kitchen bins regularly and dispose of waste correctly. Ensure cleaning supplies are topped up and equipment is stored properly. Report any maintenance or equipment issues promptly. Support the kitchen team during busy periods and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.

Person Specification:

Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Willing to take direction and work as part of a team. Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety (training can be provided).
