Equans is looking for a Weekend Security Officer to join our team at 43 Glengall Road; Southwark, SE15 6NF, on a permanent part time basis. This role involves working 24 hours per week. On offer is a salary of 17,332.33 per annum and benefits package.

Shift Pattern:

8am-8pm Saturday and Sunday

Position Overview:

The Security Officer plays a key role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and security of all residents within the student accommodation. This role requires a strong focus on student support, concierge services, and frontline assistance to create a secure and welcoming environment. Security Officers will provide first-class customer service, acting as the first point of contact for students requiring advice, assistance or emergency response.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct regular patrols to ensure site security and report any issues. Control access to the premises, checking identification and authorisation where necessary. Act as a first point of contact for students requiring security assistance, welfare support, or emergency response. Provide guidance and reassurance to students facing difficulties, offering appropriate advice or signposting them to relevant support services. Conduct welfare checks when necessary and escalate any serious concerns to accommodation management or emergency services. Monitor access points, ensuring only authorised individuals enter, and assist students with access-related issues. Respond swiftly to incidents, ensuring students' safety is prioritised at all times. Respond to any urgent cleaning requests that cannot wait until the cleaning team arrive Maintain a visible presence to provide reassurance and deter unauthorised individuals. Assist with emergency evacuations, fire drills, and health and safety compliance to safeguard students. Deliver first-class front-of-house service, ensuring students and visitors are greeted and supported professionally.

Requirements:

Valid SIA Licence (Security Guarding/Door Supervisor) CCTV Licence (necessary for the role but we can support the candidate in obtaining) First Aid Certification (preferred) Experience in security, concierge, or customer-facing roles within a student, residential, or hospitality setting Strong knowledge of public safety, security protocols, and emergency response procedures Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
