Job Summary
Recording all incoming and outgoing vehicles on the weighbridge system and their overall compliance with site safety and permit regulation.
Key Responsibilities
Direct traffic into and around site, undertaking banksperson responsibilities, tracking radio use and providing directions.
Check incoming loads, ensuring compliance with site permit and waste tracking system, assisting the Site Manager and Operational Chemist with load acceptance. Report any anomalies/errors to the weighbridge system to the appropriate people.
Accurately record weights, waste and vehicle information from legally-required paperwork into waste tracking system.
Process delivery notes and tickets accurately and efficiently. Resolve any errors within a timely manner.
Immediately report any contamination or non-conforming wastes delivered to the appropriate manager.
Maintain relationships and deal with queries from customers and site visitors.
Ensure weighbridge customers are aware of site rules and distribute information and guidance accordingly.
Ensure that vehicles have accurate paperwork for forward movements from the site.
Compile reports: vehicle turnaround times, movements into and out of site, feeding back discrepancies.
Ensure that the site diaries are kept up to date.
Assist with general administrative duties and customer service, answering the telephone and directing calls as appropriate.
Comply with all Health and Safety, HR and Environmental policies and procedures.
The above list is not exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and location described. The role will undertake weighbridge activities at two locations within 3 miles of each other (ENRMF and Thornhaugh).
Critical Qualifications
Good working knowledge of the waste, aggregates and recycling industries (advantageous, not essential)
Good working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment and understanding of permit(s)
Effective communication (verbal and written) and organisational skills in order to professionally interact with colleagues and internal customers face to face and over the phone
Commitment to delivering service excellence.
Excellent attention to detail.
Experience with data-entry systems, Microsoft office and email.
All incoming and outgoing vehicles are accurately recorded on the weighbridge system and overall compliance with site and safety regulations is adhered to.
