Our Welcome Hosts
As a Welcome Host, you are the friendly face of The Newt, creating a positive and memorable first impression for every member and visitor. You'll be on the front line of the guest journey, greeting, guiding, and assisting guests to ensure they have a safe, smooth, and enjoyable experience. With a passion for people and a love for storytelling, you'll help bring the attraction to life through excellent service and enthusiasm.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Welcome: Provide a warm, friendly, and professional welcome to all guests on arrival.
Information & Assistance: Offer clear, helpful information about the attraction's layout, events, facilities, and safety guidelines.
Wayfinding: Guide and direct visitors to key areas such as entrances, exhibitions, restrooms, or cafes.
Customer Service: Respond to visitor questions, concerns, and feedback in a positive and professional manner.
Admissions Support: Assist with scanning tickets, managing queues, and supporting self-service or staffed ticketing areas.
Presentation & Appearance: Maintain a clean and tidy front-of-house environment, and ensure personal appearance reflects the standards of the attraction.
Health & Safety Awareness: Be alert to potential hazards or issues affecting visitor safety and report promptly to the appropriate team.
Events Support: Help with the smooth running of special events, school visits, or seasonal activities when required.

What we're looking for
A friendly, approachable manner with strong communication skills
Passion for delivering great service and a memorable visitor experience
Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle busy periods professionally
Willingness to learn about the attraction and share knowledge with guests
Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours, including weekends and holidays
Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or a similar role
Basic first aid or safety awareness training
