Due to expansion, we are seeking a MIG Welder/Fabricator to join our team.
Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our team. This role is crucial in our manufacturing process, where you will be responsible for fabricating and welding components to meet project specifications. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our commitment to quality and innovation.
Basic 40 hours, flexible hours pattern, overtime available including Saturdays and Sundays
Basic rate 17.00 - 19.00 per hour
Workshop based in St Ives (PE27).
Commutable from Huntingdon, Peterborough, Cambridge, March, Chatteris, Ely, St Neots
Responsibilities
Welder /Fabricator will be responsible for fabrication of full range of products the company provide to their customers. This will encompass all activities throughout the fabrication and assembly process including:
Setting up supports and clamps
MIG Welding box sections structures
MIG Welding heavy gauge plates and profiles
MIG Multirun welds
Plasma cutting
Providing input for required jigs design
Liaise with workshop staff to ensure efficient communication and project delivery
You will be helpful and knowledgeable, taking pride in your work and be able to work with great accuracy.
Key requirements
2+ years of experience as MIG welder
Good knowledge of a mechanical workshop environment and both machine and hand tools
Good knowledge of power cutting equipment (metal cutting band saw and cold saw, power shears), drilling equipment (drilling press).
The ability to read the engineering drawings
The candidate must be able to follow current H&S regulations
Right to live and work in the UK
Desirable requirements
Have experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
Forklift license - current or previous
Full UK driving license
Vocational qualification or an equivalent level of practical experience and a recognised period of practical training would be an advantage.
