The Role
We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our workshop. You'll play a key role in creating our handcrafted products and components, working from drawings and specifications - bringing designs to life with accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Your duties will include (but not be limited to):
Fabricating and assembling bespoke metal structures
Welding and finishing components to create high-quality products
Assisting with site surveys and liaising with clients as needed
Delivering and installing jobs, including welding on-site
Using mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and solve fabrication challenges
Offering input on design ideas and improvements
Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and make necessary adjustments as required.
Managing stock and inventory
Maintaining machinery and keeping the workshop in good order
Working in both the workshop and on-site, depending on project requirements
Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone who has:
Minimum 3 years' experience in MIG and MMA (arc) welding
Qualifications preferred, but training and certification support can be provided for the right candidate
Proficiency with tools such as angle grinders, saws, rollers, punches, and drills
Ability to read and work from technical drawings
Experience in fabricating bespoke steelwork from scratch, to a high standard of quality
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Creative thinking and adaptability for varied, bespoke projects
Good time management to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Strong communication skills
Forklift licence preferred (training can be provided)
Full, clean driving licence
