Welfare Unit Engineer - Mechanical & Electrical

Location: Sandtoft Depot, DN8 5SX
Pay: From 16 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time | Permanent
Base: Predominantly depot-based
Travel: Occasional customer site work

The Job

We're looking for a hands-on Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to work out of our Sandtoft depot, repairing, servicing, and maintaining welfare units.

Most of the work is carried out in the depot, with occasional travel to customer sites for breakdowns or repairs.

You'll be working on welfare units including power, lighting, heating, water systems, and general mechanical repairs, making sure units are safe, reliable, and ready for hire.

What You'll Be Doing

Mechanical and electrical repairs on welfare units Fault-finding on 12V / 24V / 240V electrical systems Servicing generators, batteries, heaters, lighting, and pumps Working on water systems, pipework, taps, and waste systems Prepping units for hire and inspecting units on return Carrying out occasional on-site repairs and breakdowns Completing basic job paperwork and checks Keeping the workshop clean, safe, and organised Maintain adequate stock levels of engineering parts and consumables

What We're Looking For

Strong mechanical and electrical trade background Experience with welfare units, plant, generators, caravans, or similar equipment preferred Confident fault-finding ability Victron system experience an advantage (training can be provided) Comfortable working independently and getting stuck in Good attention to detail and safety Full UK driving licence preferred
