Welsh Language Compliance Officer About us: Gower College Swansea is one of the largest colleges in Wales with a strong reputation for high quality teaching and learning. We have six campuses across the city with over 4,500 full time learners and 10,000 part time learners. The role: As a member of the Welsh Language Development Team, the post holder will play an essential role in the development of Welsh language skills across Gower College campuses to develop a Welsh medium / bilingual ethos. Providing advice to service areas on implementing the Welsh Language Standards and identify and disseminate examples of best practice in the delivery of Welsh Language Standards across the College.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To be responsible for performance monitoring of College service areas for compliancy against the Welsh Language Standards under the Welsh Standards (No 6 Regulations 2017)
  • As part of the monitoring process, to identify and investigate any non-compliance or poor performance against agreed performance indicators and report accordingly
  • To investigate and research best practice across Wales and disseminate appropriately to relevant service areas
  • Support the implementation of the college\xe2\x80\x99s Bilingual Development strategy
About you:
  • An understanding of the Welsh language standards
  • Welsh Oracy (Listening/Speaking) Level 4 (Fluent)
  • Welsh Literacy (writing/Reading) Level 4 (Fluent)
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Takes pride in delivering high quality work for the benefit of service users
