Job Description

We are currently looking for a Wet Finishing Operative to join our busy Wet Finishing department. In this role, you will be trained to become skilled in the finishing of the luxurious cloths that becomes our products.


About the Role


As a Wet Finishing Operative here at Johnstons of Elgin, you will be operating and patrolling machinery that washes and processes our cloth, these machines take the cloth from rough and greasy to soft and clean. Over time, you'll learn to operate approximately 15 different machines and 27 distinct processes. This is a secret world where touch, feel and sensory awareness are crucial to crafting our luxurious fabrics, since it's not a precise science, this adds an element of magic and enhances the skill required. Full training will be provided.


This is a full time, permanent post working 38 hours per week on a 2 shift rotation;


Early - Monday to Thursday 0600-1400 and Friday 0600-1200


Late - Monday to Wednesday 1400-2400 and Thursday 1400-2200


Rate of pay starting from 12.60 per hour, dependant on experience.
