Whistleblowing Investigations (WI) are responsible for delivering a global Whistleblowing programme which (amongst other things) supports colleagues who report concerns, protects them from retaliation and leads to actions being taken where appropriate, and a group-wide Whistleblowing Investigations capability which ensures appropriate stakeholder engagement, scoping and evidence gathering to establish facts and draw conclusions.
You will be responsible for conducting investigations in accordance with a defined investigations methodology and WI handbook in close collaboration with stakeholders across Barclays. This will include reviewing e-communications, gathering evidence, conducting interviews (with witnesses, subject matter experts and subjects of investigations), analysing facts and preparing reports.
To be successful as a EME Whistleblowing & Investigations VP, you should have:
Experience of working within the Financial Services sector, with a major company in another sector or in an investigative public body or an investigative function.
Experience and understanding of operating in a robust controls environment capable of proactively identifying and mitigating risk.
Ability to handle complex data sets and analyse the data to identify themes and trends and effectively communicate to others.
Ability to oversee the operation of internal procedures, operating strong controls with a continuous improvement mind set and implementing enhancements.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Extensive professional experience in conducting and managing significant investigations in a corporate environment across a range of themes and products - scoping, evidence gathering (including interviewing) and report writing.
Familiarity with handling sensitive regulatory matters and risk identification against this backdrop.
Excellent written, communication and presentation skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to probe and ask questions to understand difficult subject areas and translate in to clear articulate briefings and reports.
