The Vacancy:

Purpose of the role:

The Windchill (Creo) Administrator will lead the configuration, administration, and optimization of our PTC Windchill PLM and Creo CAD environments. Ensuring the integrity, performance, and scalability of our product data management systems.

Duties and responsibilities:

System Administration & Configuration:

Administer and maintain the Windchill PLM system, including user access, workflows, lifecycles, and data structures. Configure and support Creo integrations with Windchill, ensuring seamless CAD data management. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.

Best Practices & Process Improvement:

Define, implement, and enforce PLM best practices across engineering and product development teams. Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline workflows, change management, and document control processes. Provide training and documentation to ensure consistent usage and adoption of Windchill and Creo tools.

Standard Parts Library Development:

Develop and maintain a centralized standard parts library within Windchill/Creo. Work with engineering teams to identify commonly used components and ensure proper classification and metadata. Implement governance processes to control the creation and modification of standard parts.

Support & Collaboration:

Act as the primary point of contact for Windchill-related support and enhancements. Liaise with IT, Engineering, and external vendors to manage upgrades, patches, and integrations. Support data migration, system upgrades, and new module implementations as needed. Carries out such other duties that may be reasonably requested.

Person Specification:

Essential:

Experience

A strong background in PLM best practices, CAD data management, and the development of standard parts libraries to support engineering efficiency and product quality. Proven experience administering PTC Windchill and Creo Parametric in a production environment. Experience developing and managing standard parts libraries.

Technical

Strong understanding of PLM principles, CAD data management, and engineering workflows. Proficient in configuring and supporting Creo-Windchill integrations. Ability to monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues effectively. Skilled in defining and implementing PLM best practices. Capable of writing and maintaining technical documentation, training materials, and user guides. Knowledge of ERP integration with PLM systems.

Skills and Competencies

Excellent problem-solving, and analytical abilities. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across Engineering, IT, and external vendors. Ability to deliver training and support to end-users and promote system adoption. Ability to write and maintain documentation, training materials, and user guides.

Desirable:

Qualifications

Windchill Certification (PTC Windchill University)

Experience

Familiarity with Windchill modules such as PDMLink, PartsLink, and Classification. Background in mechanical or product engineering.

Technical

Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Windchill APIs, Java, XML).
