Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Window Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of various types of windows in residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong understanding of building regulations and the ability to work with a variety of materials and tools. The Window Fitter will ensure that all installations are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and replace windows in accordance with specifications and building codes. Measure and cut materials to ensure a precise fit for each window installation. Use power tools and hand tools effectively to complete installations and repairs. Ensure that all windows are properly sealed, plumbed, and finished for optimal performance. Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters and roofers, to complete projects efficiently. Perform masonry work as needed to prepare openings for window installations. Conduct regular maintenance checks on installed windows to identify any issues or required repairs. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations.

Skills

Knowledge on EPDM and DPC systems and installation. Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to window fitting. Ability to fabricate components as needed for custom window installations. Strong understanding of electrical systems related to window installations (e.g., electric windows). Experience in plumb, painting, welding, roofing, carpentry, and masonry is advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues.
