Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Window Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fitting and installing windows, ensuring that all installations meet safety and quality standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Window Fitter will be responsible for various tasks related to window installation, including preparation, fitting, and finishing work.

Responsibilities

Measure and mark window openings to ensure accurate fittings. Install windows according to specifications, ensuring they are plumb and level. Perform necessary adjustments and repairs to existing window frames. Work with various materials including plaster, masonry, and roofing elements as required. Fabricate custom window frames when necessary, following schematics and design plans. Conduct finishing work such as painting or sealing around installed windows to ensure weatherproofing. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including electricians and welders, to complete projects efficiently. Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.

Experience

Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

Proven experience in window fitting or a related field. Proficiency in working with plaster, masonry, and roofing materials is advantageous. Ability to read and interpret schematics for accurate installation. Familiarity with welding techniques is beneficial but not essential. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
