Job Summary



Corney and Barrow Ayr is a vibrant, customer focused wine shop offering a broad collection of fine wines. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all wine lovers. We also deliver unique tasting experiences in our historic 18th century cellars, which sell out months in advance.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual to join our small, but passionate team. The Sales /Events Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the wine shop and will also offer sales support to the wider C&B Scotland sales team.

This position is perfect for a proactive, creative individual with a passion for wine and events who enjoys interacting with customers and building relationships.

Your Responsibilities:



Sales & Shop:



Maintaining the shop floor and seasonal displays and ensuring stock is correctly priced.

Driving footfall through the creation of eye-catching displays and sales initiatives.

Regularly creating engaging content for social media and sharing the shop's Facebook and Instagram pages.

Provide excellent customer service, offering wine recommendations based on customer preferences and knowledge of our range.

Process sales transactions efficiently and accurately, handling various payment methods.

Address customer inquiries and provide information on wines, promotions, and upcoming events.

Assist with inventory management/stock taking.

Assisting the wider sales team with all elements of sales support, which includes processing orders, pricing, etc.

Wine Tastings/Events:



Pre-event administration - advertising via social media, managing guest lists, arranging payment.

Promotion and innovation - developing new ideas/themes for tastings.

Assisting at tastings (both on site and external events); set up, pouring, interacting with customers, sales.

Post-event administration - reporting, follow-up sales, customer retention.

About You



Essential

Excellent communication and customer service

Excellent wine knowledge, and a desire to learn more

Marketing and social media awareness

Experience of stock control and inventory management

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and point of sales systems

Strong organisational skills and the ability the ability to multitask

Flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated

Desirable

Experience of running events and private functions

WSET level 2 or higher

Scottish Personal Licence holder

UK Driving Licence

First Aid trained

What We're Offering



Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.

40 hours per week - Tuesday to Saturday, 9am - 6pm with Sunday & Monday off
