Location: Guangdong, China Dates: 18th - 31st December 2025 Type: Short-term / Fully Funded Teaching Placement Organisation: Edify Learning (in partnership with Elite Journey and Minxin School)
About the Opportunity

Join the Minxin Winter Camp in Guangdong -- an intensive academic programme designed for motivated Chinese students preparing to enter Minxin School. As a Maths or English Mentor, you'll be part of a small international team helping students sharpen their academic skills while experiencing China in an immersive, structured environment.

This is not a holiday camp - it's an academically focused placement for passionate, reliable educators who want to make a meaningful impact.

Key Dates

Arrival: 18th December (recommended) Mentor Training: 19th December (in-person) Camp Duration: 22nd - 31st December Departure / Free Travel: From 31st December onwards (accommodation ends)
Accommodation & Travel

18th-19th December: Hotel accommodation assisted booking 20th-31st December: On-campus accommodation + all meals included After 31st December: Free to travel for as long as visa allows Flights and visa costs partially covered Airport pickup arranged by local team (Elite Journey)
Your Role

You'll teach highly motivated students (aged 12-16) in small classes of up to 15 students. Each mentor is supported by a local Teaching Assistant (TA) -- a Chinese university student studying English who helps with translation and coordination.

A typical camp day:

07:30-08:30 -- Breakfast

08:30-11:30 -- Morning Lessons

11:30-13:30 -- Lunch & rest

13:30-16:30 -- Afternoon Lessons

16:30-17:30 -- Co-curricular activity (sports, arts, etc.)

17:30-18:30 -- Dinner

18:30-20:00 -- Evening activity (competitions, workshops etc.)

Per 3-hour class:

2 hours taught by you (foreign mentor) 1 hour led by TA (marking / support period)
Subjects

We are recruiting 6 mentors total:

3 x English Mentors 3 x Maths Mentors
Eligibility

We're looking for high-achieving, enthusiastic university students or recent graduates from strong academic backgrounds.

Priority given to:

Oxbridge applicants G5 universities (UCL, LSE, Imperial, etc.)
Candidates with relevant degrees in:

English / Humanities / Linguistics (for English Mentors) Maths / Engineering / Physics (for Maths Mentors) (Exceptional applicants from other universities will also be considered.)
Compensation

Partially funded trip (flights + visa + accommodation + meals)
