The Middlewick is a stunning resort set on 16 acres of picturesque farmland at the base of iconic Glastonbury Tor. With holiday accommodation, a spa, cafe/restaurant, farm shop and events, the family owned business strives to offer exceptional experiences for all that visit. The award-winning cafe features a menu packed full of local and foraged food from our kitchen gardens and orchards as well as produce and meat from our neighbouring farms. The Spa at Middlewick is a perfect venue for Wellness and Yoga retreats so a large portion of our menu is vegan dining.

Summary

We are looking for a temporary Sous Chef to cover for 6 months while one of our chefs heads off travelling. The person we are looking for should be an outgoing, friendly, hard-working individual who works well in a small team. They should enjoy cooking with local and foraged ingredients, both meat and vegan cuisine. Live-in accommodation is an option here at the farm.

Responsibilities

Reporting to our Head Chef and his team of chefs, you will be responsible for the day to day preparation and cooking of breakfast and lunch service. The Majority of Shifts are day time shifts and do include weekends.

You will assist with group catering as well which sometimes requires an evening shift. You will be required to work over the Christmas holidays, although we do close on Christmas day, Boxing Day and New Years Day

Extension of the role

There is a chance that the role could turn into a longer contract but at this stage it is a 6 month position while one of the team travel.

Opportunity

This role would suit a back packer who would like to spend the winter in Glastonbury. Or it may be great for someone looking to gain 6 months experience working in a busy kitchen and creating meals for spa, retreats, tourists and hotel guests.
