Job Description

Oversees the restaurant's kitchen by managing other members of the food preparation team, ensuring that the defined Oodles Chinese recipes and cooking procedures for its range of 'Quick Service' meals are strictly observed. May assist in preparation work, such as chopping vegetables, but more often will be involved in cooking and quality control, to include supplier liaison. May also be required to choose ingredients based on the seasonal availability of food items.

A primary aim is to ensure that the quality of food served to customers is of a sufficient high standard to encourage them to visit Oodles Chinese on a regular basis.

Chef Job Duties:

Cooks customer orders according to their preferences Strictly observes food safety and hygiene best practices and makes sure that all kitchen staff members do the same Acts with appropriate caution in a dangerous environment where there are knives and high-temperature surfaces, observing the Company Health & Safety policy Selects choice ingredients that will give dishes the best flavour Regularly conducts quality control checks on all food related procedures that operate within the restaurant Where required, liaise with suppliers with regard to quality and supply issues Coaches other members of the kitchen staff so they consistently perform at their best Determines how much food to order and maintains an appropriate supply at the
restaurant

Keeps up with trends in cooking and the 'Quick Service' restaurant business to ensure that guests have a positive experience Works quickly and accurately during busy periods, such as weekends and evenings Occasionally takes on extra duties, such as cleaning, when the kitchen is short-staffed or the restaurant is particularly busy Takes direction and works with the restaurant's management and administrative team Chef Skills and Qualifications:
Training in culinary arts, prior work experience, works quickly and precisely, physical stamina,

flexible schedule, good communication skills, organisational skills, team player, leadership skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 13.00-15.00 per hour
