We are seeking a skilled wood machinist / tool room operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in machining processes and be proficient in operating timber moulding machines. This role involves ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the production process.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain milling machines, and other machining equipment to produce to specification.
Grind, sharpen and set tooling blocks for profiling machines
Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Assist in tooling setup and adjustments for different machining operations.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Machinist or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of wood machining
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing technologies within the industry.
