A superb opportunity for an experienced Wood Machinist to join a leading UK supplier of staircases, windows and doors. For more than a decade, we have worked in partnership with several of the UK's leading house builders, property developers and the general public. We are now looking to expand our customer base and further recruitment is required to support our next level of growth.
THE COMPANY
Central Joinery Group is comprised of three divisions, each specialising in manufacturing an extensive range of high-quality, beautifully crafted & responsibly sourced timber products.
In 2004 and 2008, we opened two purpose built-facilities, representing an investment of over 1.75m. Our environmentally friendly Swadlincote sites are strategically located at the heart of the country, close to major road networks, ensuring reliable nationwide deliveries through our modern vehicle fleet.
Continually striving for a lower carbon footprint Central Joinery Group has installed both solar panel and biomass heating systems to heat our factory's environments, therefore utilising the waste materials generated and reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?
Reporting to the Workshop Foreman you will be expected to:
Managing a pipeline of works orders through all machines
Programming and setting the machines as required
Monitoring the quality of the work being processed
Checking work against drawings to ensure accuracy
Changing tooling as required to complete orders
Ensuring the machinery is kept in excellent working order
Maintaining a clean and safe environment and following all Health and Safety policies
Liaising with the Workshop Foreman to ensure production is on track
Any other task as requested by a manager
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
Relevant experience in machining and marking out.
An understanding of the fundamental methods of joinery construction is essential.
A positive attitude and a good team player, being able to quickly adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or relevant experience.
Excellent communication skills.
Impeccable attention to detail.
