The Lodge Trust CIO is a Christian charity based in Market Overton, Rutland, supporting adults with learning disabilities to live meaningful, fulfilled lives. We provide supported living, residential care, day opportunities, and work-based activities within a welcoming rural community.

About the Role

We are seeking a

Woodwork Team Leader

to lead and deliver a high-quality, safe, and engaging woodwork provision within our Creative Enterprises.

This is a hands-on role combining

practical woodworking expertise

with

person-centred support

, enabling adults with learning disabilities to develop skills, confidence, and pride through meaningful work. You will supervise daily woodwork activities, support individuals to achieve their potential, and ensure products meet a high standard suitable for sale.

Key Responsibilities

Service User Support



Support and supervise adults with learning disabilities in a woodwork setting Promote independence, choice, confidence, and skill development Act as a Link Worker for designated individuals, contributing to reviews and person-centred plans Provide personal care support where appropriate, in line with care plans Support participation in outings, events, and wider activities

Woodwork & Production



Deliver a high-quality woodwork service producing attractive, saleable products Use professional woodworking tools and machinery safely and effectively Maintain workshop areas, tools, and equipment to a high standard Contribute ideas for new products and service improvements Support internal woodwork and maintenance projects as required

Health, Safety & Compliance



Ensure a safe working environment at all times Complete and maintain risk assessments and safety records Follow all health and safety, safeguarding, and CQC requirements Maintain accurate records relating to equipment, materials, and activities

Teamwork & Administration



Work collaboratively with other Creative Enterprise Team Leaders Maintain accurate records and documentation Order supplies and work within agreed budgets Support audits, inspections, and quality monitoring
About You

Essential



Experience working in a woodwork or workshop environment Confidence using professional woodworking tools and machinery Awareness of health and safety responsibilities in a practical setting Ability to support and motivate adults with learning disabilities Good organisational, planning, and IT skills Reliable, patient, kind, and able to work as part of a team

Desirable



Experience supporting people with learning disabilities Experience in a commercial or production-based woodwork setting Leadership or supervisory experience Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards) Woodwork, teaching, health & safety, or first aid qualification Full UK driving licence
Additional Information

Full-time role, Monday to Friday Some flexibility required to support events (including up to two Saturdays per year) This role is subject to an
