Laminates Ltd specialise in the Manufacture and Distribution of bespoke Kitchen surfaces and are continuing to add to and develop our Manufacturing base as we grow into new sectors of the UK market.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Saw and/or Edgebander Operator to join our Manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various saws and Edgebanding equipment to produce Laminates Kitchen Worktops and Panels. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes and safety protocols, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience to develop their skills within a smaller shop floor environment .
Responsibilities
Operate various Beamsaws and Edgebanding machinery to accurately cut and edge laminated chipboard kitchen panels
Interpret production labels and work orders to determine efficient cutting requirements
Ensure all safety procedures are followed during operation, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Maintain and calibrate Saw and/or Edgebanding equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance
Assist with material handling, including heavy lifting and positioning of workpieces
Perform routine inspections of tools and machinery, reporting any faults or issues promptly
Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency
Collaborate with team members on fabrication, assembly, or joinery tasks as required
Skills
Proven experience in wood-based fabrication is desirable but not a requirement
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised saw equipment
Ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently
Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on precision cutting and edging
Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged standing periods
Good organisational skills and the ability to follow technical instructions accurately
Awareness of health and safety regulations relevant to manufacturing or construction environments
