We are seeking a skilled Back-End WordPress Developer to join our UK based team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in developing custom WordPress solutions, building and maintaining plugins, optimising website performance, and ensuring site security. You will collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and project managers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure WordPress websites for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, customise, and maintain WordPress themes and plugins.
Build custom functionality using PHP, WordPress hooks, and APIs.
Optimise websites for performance, scalability, and security.
Integrate third-party APIs and services into WordPress websites.
Update Plugins if needed.
Maintain and troubleshoot WordPress databases and server-side configurations.
Ensure code quality through testing, debugging, and best practices.
Collaborate with front-end developers and designers to implement features.
Manage deployment processes and version control (Git).
Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, tools, and security practices.
Adding Products, changing prices and keeping up to date with the products we sell.
Monthly reports to Management of the sales and traffic coming to website.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Back-End WordPress Developer.
Strong proficiency in
PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery
.
Deep knowledge of WordPress core, themes, and plugin architecture.
Experience with
custom post types, taxonomies, and WordPress REST API
.
Strong understanding of
OOP, MVC frameworks, and design patterns
.
Familiarity with server environments (cPanel, Plesk, or cloud hosting).
Experience with
Git version control and deployment workflows
.
Knowledge of
security best practices
for WordPress.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Can use Mac OS Operating System
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with WooCommerce and eCommerce platforms.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of Docker or containerised environments.
Previous experience in an agency or multi-project environment.

28 days Annual Leave (Including Bank Holidays)

Salary: 28k pa (Negotiable depending on experience)
