The role
As a Workplace Assessor, you'll develop and assess employees and modern apprentices in real workplaces. You'll coach learners, observe professional practice, and evaluate evidence against national standards set by SQA, Skills Development Scotland and Sector Skills Councils. You'll also play a part in growing programme participation by engaging employers and prospective learners.
You'll be great at:
building rapport, giving constructive feedback, organising your time, and keeping accurate records to both MGT and regulatory standards.
What you'll do
Assess & coach
learners through regular workplace visits (in?person and virtual), giving clear, actionable feedback and supportive direction
Observe practice
and assess competence against national/occupational standards
with learners, employers, colleagues and regulatory bodies (SQA, SDS)
Keep records right
: maintain accurate, compliant documentation, including MA Online
Grow the programme
Help us grow the programme by confidently enrolling new starts and engaging employers--against clear, transparent benchmarks
Own your schedule
: plan your diary and routes for an efficient caseload across your region
What you'll bring

Assessor qualification (essential)
Occupational competence
in Hospitality, Management, Retail and/or Business (essential)
Strong sector knowledge
across these areas and current assessment practice and industry standards
Full UK Category B licence

A typical week
80% workplace visits/learner contact (including assessment)
10% planning/admin/portfolio work (including MA Online)
