What are we looking for?



Due to our continued growth, the workshop has recently moved to new premises in Bedford. With further planned expansion, we require an enthusiastic, practical and pro-active Workshop Assistant who has good IT skills and a keen eye for detail. This role will be to assist with the cleaning and inspection of hire equipment, loading and unloading of vehicles and putting stock away.

THX aspire to be the hire company of choice for specialist contractors, offering the latest in a very large range of hire equipment.

You will be assisting with:



Cleaning and maintaining equipment, including touching-up paint work and respraying Inspecting and testing returned hire equipment (training given) Loading inspected items onto vehicles - our own fleet and third-party Ensuring the THX identification numbers are clearly marked and visible on all items going out to hire Liaising with the drivers to ensure any returned items come off the vehicles in an organised, correct and agreed manner Checking and putting away income goods into the workshop stores Using a computer-based system for administration of the inspections Regularly checking, cleaning, and tidying our workshop Providing support to our warehouse, workshop and driving teams, as required

Essential requirements:



An exceptional eye for detail Being able to work accurately at speed, with numbers Good computer skills and accurate data management via Excel and in-house computer systems Physically fit and hard-working team player Self-motivated and prepared to take ownership of work Great communication skills - both verbal and written Practical understanding and mindset with the ability to work quickly and methodically Willingness to learn Experience in cleaning, organising and tidying A can-do attitude with willingness to help Ability to concentrate whilst doing repetitive tasks Good time-management Ability to work alone whilst also being a team player Forklift experience or training would be beneficial but will be given to the right person
You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 10:30am-7pm. In time, as the company grows, this may change to 11:30am - 8pm but you will be given fair notice.
